Waldminiaturen

For a long time now I have been composing a growing list of compositions intended to evoke, in the hearts and minds of those who hear it, a comprehension that it is humanity’s obligation to act as caretakers, rather than destroyers, of the life that surrounds us. So it was a great pleasure for me to have been invited by Naoko to contribute music for her “Waldszenen” program. As I sat down to write these 15 miniatures, I imagined myself walking through a forest, under a canopy of trees, birds of all kinds singing around me.
