Songs for Astrid

Following a lovely Memorial Day weekend visiting our son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter, I spent the next several days at home writing music for that lovely little girl. Music for practicing crawling! Nine brief, mostly bouncy tunes, for solo flute. Fragments of several Russian folk tunes (taken from Tchaikovsky’s edition) inspired several of the tunes. Ends with a lullaby, as after a few hours, we all needed a nap.
